Christmas in Javea
CHRISTMAS IN JAVEA
Have you ever thought of taking a holiday of short break just after Christmas? Just when you think your Christmas is over, here in Spain it’s in full swing. All events here lead up to 6th January (Epithany) which is called “Los Reyes Magos.”
Each town has its own traditions but all involve the arrival of the Three Kings on eve of 5th January bearing gifts for the children.
Here in Javea the procession is quite spectacular as the Three kings arrive by boat at the port. From there they travel by camel or floats in a procession towards the old town where they deliver gifts to excited children.
This is just part of the Christmas tradition and there is plenty of events and Christmas markets to put you in a Christmassy mood
